XRP Critic Peter Brandt Says Stellar (XLM) Is a Good Pick for Long Shot Bet. Here’s why

Seasoned market trader Peter Brandt recently shared a significant outlook for Stellar (XLM), stating, “If you want to bet on a long shot (next few years), XLM is a good pick.” His published commentary included both a specific chart pattern and an anticipated price target.

The Chart Structure

Spanning from 2018 through late 2026, the monthly price chart displays a descending upper trendline that links consecutive cycle highs, demonstrating peaks that diminish over time. The high in 2018 hit $0.9381, followed by the 2021 peak near $0.75, and a 2025 peak of roughly $0.65. Each subsequent advance stalled at a lower threshold than its predecessor.

Concurrently, an upward-sloping trendline underneath the price action has functioned as support throughout this multi-year timeframe, successfully catching repeated pullbacks. Trading presently at $0.23041, XLM rests close to this enduring support boundary. Despite the lower highs, Brandt maintains a bullish outlook on the asset’s extended trajectory.

Indicators and Moving Averages

Two distinct moving averages appear on the chart: the 18-period average resting at $0.23041 and the 8-period average positioned at $0.18827, with the current price operating between them. An Average Directional Index (ADX) reading of 33.91 points to an active trend strength. Meanwhile, the 30-period Average True Range stands at $0.1075, pointing to notable volatility on the monthly chart.

A Recurring Cycle

Brandt has previously highlighted constructive technical foundations for XLM, characterizing it as a coin that “could become a rock star.” That prior examination pointed to an escalating support floor alongside a multi-year resistance barrier that has constrained the cryptocurrency since 2018.

The chart designates two earlier troughs as “SH” and “S” near the 2019-2020 foundation. That exact base preceded the 2021 surge that pushed XLM past $0.70. Today’s price occupies a matching region near the long-term support line, mirroring the origin points of all three major historical rallies depicted.

The Price Target of His Multi-Year Thesis

Marked clearly on the chart with a horizontal green line, Brandt’s designated price objective sits at $1.17605. Achieving this mark from current valuations would necessitate an approximate 410% increase. Brandt’s remarks emphasize that this is a multi-year strategy rather than an immediate, short-term play. He has additionally outlined a long-term goal for XRP, grounding his entire evaluation in technical formations and empirical data.

Brandt categorizes XLM within a select basket of cryptocurrencies he evaluates favorably, alongside Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP. His newest update builds on that perspective by establishing a clear upward objective and a timeline extending across several years.
