Evernorth CEO Reveals a Major Plan for XRP

Evernorth is establishing an active XRP treasury. Following CEO Asheesh Birla’s remarks at the Nasdaq closing bell ceremony on October 14, crypto analyst Xaif (@Xaif_Crypto) drew attention to the company’s operational strategy.

Backed by Ripple, the firm currently possesses around 473 million XRP. Its plan is to deploy this capital to generate yield, ensuring all profits directly increase the amount of XRP per share.

Xaif outlined the approach on social media, noting, “The goal isn’t simply to hold XRP. It’s to put XRP to work, generate yield, and use that yield to grow the amount of XRP backing each share.” This forms the core of Evernorth’s operational engine.

Birla Explains the Yield Strategy

During the closing bell event, Birla outlined his vision for Evernorth, highlighting two distinct avenues for yield generation: on-chain opportunities through the growing XRP DeFi ecosystem, and off-chain opportunities via institutional partnerships.

Stating that the objective is to “generate an increased XRP per share,” Birla confirmed the firm will leverage both pathways. To drive this execution, Evernorth appointed Hugo Jeandesboz—formerly of Coinbase and HSBC—as Chief Investment Officer.

According to Birla, Jeandesboz collaborates with various firms to “look at opportunities to put XRP to work.” This hire demonstrates that Evernorth is assembling a leadership team possessing both traditional finance and crypto-native backgrounds to manage its active treasury.

This separates Evernorth from passive holding vehicles. While most crypto treasury firms simply accumulate and store assets, Evernorth’s framework aims to produce yield on its holdings and reinvest those returns to continuously boost the XRP backing per share. Consequently, observers view Evernorth as an evolution of the MicroStrategy model applied to Bitcoin.

Why This Model Benefits XRP

As the largest publicly traded enterprise dedicated exclusively to XRP, Evernorth entered public markets following a capital raise exceeding $1 billion, supported by Ripple, SBI Holdings, Pantera Capital, Kraken, and GSR. Trading on Nasdaq under the ticker XRPN, the company now commands roughly 473 million XRP.

This active treasury framework fosters continuous demand for the asset. Evernorth acquires XRP on the open market for its treasury, subsequently utilizing it to produce yield through institutional lending and on-chain DeFi participation. The resulting yield is then reinvested to buy additional XRP.

Expanding the XRP reserves enhances per-share backing. Provided it is executed consistently, this feedback loop generates steady buying pressure. XRPN officially launched trading on October 12 and celebrated with the Nasdaq closing bell ceremony two days later.
