SWIFT Partner Handling 9% of Global Traffic Picks Ripple (XRP) for Settlement

Crypto influencer Amelie (@_Crypto_Barbie) recently highlighted an expansion in XRP’s institutional footprint by sharing a screenshot of an article confirming that ACI Worldwide has officially incorporated Ripple’s XRP Ledger as a supported distributed ledger technology (DLT) settlement rail within the new multi-chain ledger framework established by SWIFT.

ACI Worldwide is a major industry player, managing approximately 9% of global SWIFT traffic, which equates to roughly $155 trillion in annualized volume.

Integrating XRP as a supported payment rail connects Ripple’s technology directly with one of the most prominent payment middleware providers in the financial sector.

Ripple’s Tech Fits SWIFT’s New Standard

The timing of this development enhances its significance. Throughout 2026, SWIFT has been rolling out ISO 20022 as its updated global messaging standard. Because Ripple’s technology is natively compatible with this standard, banks adopting ISO 20022 can integrate with Ripple’s infrastructure seamlessly without needing extra conversion layers.

At the heart of this capability is Ripple’s On-Demand Liquidity product. It enables banks connected to SWIFT to utilize XRP as a settlement currency during transactions before converting back to local fiat currency at the destination. Ultimately, this creates an accelerated settlement lane running on top of existing SWIFT infrastructure.

The GTreasury Acquisition Adds Institutional Depth

Ripple further cemented its standing through its acquisition of GTreasury in 2025. As a certified member of the SWIFT Partner Program, GTreasury added support for SWIFT messaging, digital asset accounts for both XRP and RLUSD, and SWIFTRef data for ABA and IBAN lookups following the purchase.

This buyout granted Ripple direct connections to corporate treasury clients, who can now manage traditional SWIFT payment transactions alongside crypto assets within a single platform—offering a clear, practical benefit for enterprise adoption.

XRP Price Outlook

Market pricing for XRP is heavily influenced by adoption milestones and regulatory developments. The inclusion by ACI Worldwide builds upon a growing number of infrastructure integrations that establish XRP as a viable settlement asset within traditional financial frameworks.

Every addition to SWIFT-adjacent architecture expands the real-world utility of On-Demand Liquidity. Increased ODL utilization subsequently bolsters demand for XRP in cross-border settlements. Given that ACI processes $155 trillion in annualized volume, integrations of this magnitude have historically aligned with upward price trends during XRP market cycles.

The institutional foundations established for XRP throughout 2026 are considerable. Even so, precise price forecasts remain challenging to tie down to a definitive timeline. Whether this activity triggers immediate price growth depends entirely on adoption rates and how quickly SWIFT-affiliated banks choose to activate XRP settlement pathways.
