Top Trader Says I Don’t Believe XRP Will Hit $10,000, But Hear Me Out

Crypto enthusiast Nate used a thought experiment involving a $156 investment in XRP to weigh the risks of missing out on a potential $10,000 price target against losing a small initial stake.

Top Trader Says I Don’t Believe XRP Will Hit $10,000, But Hear Me Out

Crypto enthusiast Nate has urged digital asset investors and XRP holders to weigh a simple question: what does someone truly risk by skipping XRP entirely if the cryptocurrency were to eventually hit an astronomical price?

While Nate stops short of predicting that XRP will actually climb to $10,000, he applied the theoretical milestone to contrast a modest modern-day purchase with the massive returns that could materialize under such conditions.

Nate Examines A $156 XRP Investment

Pointing out that XRP trades at $1.56, Nate outlined in a social media post that an investor could acquire 100 XRP for $156. He then evaluated the outcome if the digital asset eventually surged to $10,000.

At that valuation, 100 XRP would equal $1 million, though Nate’s original post listed a figure of $1.56 million (while the straightforward math for 100 tokens at $10,000 yields $1 million).

Nate subsequently laid out two distinct outcomes. First, an individual might pass on buying the token because they think the target is impossible. Should XRP ultimately reach $10,000, that individual forfeits the upside.

Second, an investor could allocate $156 to secure 100 XRP only for the asset to fall short of the speculative target. In a worst-case scenario where XRP goes to zero, the buyer would forfeit their initial $156 stake.

By contrasting these two possibilities, Nate illustrated why he views the second outcome as much easier to stomach than passing up a potential seven-figure payout, while reiterating upfront that he does not necessarily expect XRP to hit $10,000.

XRP Holders Share Different Expectations

Responses to Nate’s commentary revealed a range of viewpoints regarding XRP’s trajectory. One user shared past guidance from their father regarding Bitcoin purchases roughly 15 years prior. According to the commenter, their father advised allocating funds instead of spending on alcohol, advice they ignored. Noting they have held XRP for eight years, they now look back on that choice with regret.

Another user, Ken, targeted a much more modest price milestone. He noted that nearly a decade has passed since XRP set a new record, stating he would be content if the asset simply cleared its previous all-time high.

Meanwhile, Rocket Man pushed back against the $10,000 theory by looking at the estimated value of Chris Larsen’s reported XRP holdings. Pointing to a figure of 2.53 billion tokens, he calculated that a $10,000 per-token price would value those specific holdings at roughly $25.3 trillion, casting doubt on the plausibility of the target.

Adopting a middle-ground view, Melanin Herrman stated that while they do not foresee XRP hitting $10,000, they routinely purchase the cryptocurrency at valuations they deem fair and anticipate seeing double-digit prices eventually.

Ultimately, Nate’s message uses the $10,000 figure as a thought experiment, pushing audiences to weigh the financial gamble of making a trivial capital commitment against the cost of missing out on monumental gains.
