Securitize Stocks Brings U.S. Equities On-Chain
Securitize officially announced the rollout of Securitize Stocks on October 8. Crypto researcher SMQKE (@SMQKEDQG) covered the announcement in detail. The newly introduced platform brings several heavily traded U.S. equities directly on-chain for eligible participants residing in the U.S., the European Union, and additional approved global jurisdictions.
These assets consist of authentic, regulated shares issued natively on-chain and logged within the respective issuer’s equity framework. Participating investors obtain complete shareholder privileges, such as voting capabilities and dividend distributions.
SMQKE pointed out that “Ripple Prime is confirmed as a direct supporter of Securitize Stocks at launch,” adding that both organizations are actively integrating with the XRP Ledger.
Ripple Prime’s Role in Institutional Markets
Ripple Prime was established following Ripple’s acquisition of the multi-asset prime brokerage firm Hidden Road. Through this combined platform, U.S. institutional customers gain entry to over-the-counter spot trading across a wide array of digital assets, including RLUSD and XRP. The platform also delivers fixed income, derivatives, foreign exchange, and swap offerings.
Noel Kimmel, who serves as President of Ripple Prime, commented on the importance of the launch, emphasizing that functioning tokenized capital markets depend on proper collateral, issuance, and liquidity at scale. He also reaffirmed Ripple Prime’s dedication to collaborating with allies working to incorporate these assets into institutional trading channels.
Carlos Domingo, the CEO of Securitize, characterized the alliance as a way to provide “real-time settlement and programmable liquidity across a new class of compliant, on-chain investment products.” Furthermore, Securitize is integrating with the XRP Ledger to broaden availability and introduce fresh utility to the XRPL network, a move that has been noted as a potential pathway for XRP integration with the DTCC.
XRP’s Position in the Tokenized Equity Space
At the heart of this architecture lies XRP. The introduction of Securitize Stocks introduces yet another institutional use case to the network by facilitating the movement of real-world equities on-chain for worldwide investors.
ChartNerd’s evaluation proves accurate, as this milestone brings meaningful implications for XRP’s utility among institutions and its enduring standing within the tokenized capital markets sector.
