Fresh attention has turned to the connection between Ripple’s financial offerings and XRP following the debut of the company’s new treasury platform. Crypto researcher SMQKE suggests that Ripple Treasury could pave the way for XRP to integrate into the SWIFT network—a potential milestone for investors monitoring increased institutional adoption of the digital token.
In a post on X, SMQKE outlined the connection, stating, “Ripple Treasury + XRP and SWIFT.” The researcher then made a more definitive assertion: “Ripple Treasury will facilitate the entry of XRP into the SWIFT network. Documented.”
Ripple Treasury Brings New Services to Businesses
Ripple introduced Ripple Treasury on January 28, 2026, following its $1 billion acquisition of corporate treasury software firm GTreasury in October 2025. By merging GTreasury’s management tools with Ripple’s blockchain infrastructure, the platform offers companies a centralized hub to handle both conventional fiat currencies and digital assets.
The offering enables cross-border settlements via RLUSD, Ripple’s proprietary dollar-pegged stablecoin. Furthermore, it links corporate users to tokenized money-market funds and overnight repurchase agreements, granting them tools for cash management and short-term liquidity access.
These features broaden Ripple’s footprint in the corporate finance sector. Organizations can leverage the platform for treasury duties without needing to overhaul current banking partnerships or directly interact with XRP.

Does This Mean XRP Will Join SWIFT?
The SWIFT network supplies messaging infrastructure utilized by banks to manage cross-border money transfers. Given its dominant position in international banking, any prospective tie-in between blockchain settlement networks and SWIFT is of keen interest to XRP investors.
Even so, SMQKE’s assertion should not be confused with an officially verified integration. While the rollout of Ripple Treasury demonstrates the platform’s functional scope, it does not confirm that SWIFT has embraced XRP or verified intentions to utilize it for settling transactions.
This distinction is critical because Ripple can scale its institutional offerings without every single transaction relying on XRP. Depending on corporate requirements, users might opt for RLUSD or alternative supported financial services. Whether XRP plays a part depends entirely on whether financial institutions choose to employ the asset for liquidity, payments, or settlement under any upcoming frameworks.
Investors Want Utility to Translate Into Price
The connection between practical utility and market valuation was also raised in the discussion thread. User Fabrizio Scudu raised doubts about whether broader utility for XRP would appease investors if the token’s market price failed to mirror that expansion.
“But the price is wrong… it’s pointless to say we need to look at utility. We all look at utility, but if it doesn’t translate into a fair value for #XRP, nobody cares anymore,” Scudu wrote.
His remarks highlight an ongoing anxiety among XRP owners: wider deployment of Ripple’s tech stack does not inherently secure token price growth.
For SMQKE’s hypothesis to materialize as a significant catalyst for XRP, any actual SWIFT partnership would necessitate the direct usage of the asset. Until an initiative of this nature is formally validated, the proposed connection remains speculative rather than an established reality.
