This Big Deal Opens Up XRP to PayPal, Venmo, Others

Vet, a well-known XRP Ledger validator, drew attention to a significant development from Paxos. According to him, the Paxos integration “opens up XRP services to a lot of institutions and their customers, like PayPal, Venmo, Interactive Brokers, Charles Schwab, and more.”

This insight underscores a key point: while the true scale of the integration may not be obvious at first glance, its overall reach is massive.

Paxos Adds XRP to its Brokerage Stack

XRP was integrated into the Paxos Crypto Brokerage platform on October 7. The platform currently enables the holding, buying, selling, depositing, and withdrawal of XRP. Through this update, partners can roll out these capabilities via their existing APIs. Paxos functions under the regulatory supervision of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency as a national trust bank, having attained that status in December 2025.

As a regulated back-end provider, Paxos powers several major consumer finance leaders, including PayPal, Venmo, Interactive Brokers, Charles Schwab, and Mercado Libre. By incorporating XRP into its system, the asset becomes available to all of these associated platforms.

XRP’s Reach Gets Larger

At present, XRP spans more than 8.1 million wallets and holds a market capitalization approaching $95 billion. By June 2026, Paxos supported 29 digital assets, aiming to include a large portion of the top 50 tokens by market cap prior to the conclusion of the year. XRP is the newest inclusion.

Prior to launch, every token undergoes a rigorous compliance evaluation, a process XRP successfully cleared. Partner institutions now retain the autonomy to determine whether to offer XRP to their respective client bases. By positioning XRP as an option for all of them, the integration significantly expands the token’s addressable market.

The Community Responds

The announcement triggered immediate community feedback. One commentator emphasized that true adoption happens organically when a single integration quietly serves millions of users across several mainstream platforms, rather than relying on public recognition of the underlying technology.

While the vast majority of end users will remain unaware of the infrastructure powering their transactions, the observer suggests that XRP stands to play a meaningful part, noting that this is “how adoption actually happens.”

Another user voiced disappointment that the impactful announcement failed to impact the token’s price, while a third congratulated the ecosystem and pointed out the continuous stream of favorable developments surrounding XRP. Ultimately, the Paxos integration provides XRP with a compliant channel for distribution across several of the nation’s most prominent financial applications.
