Wall Street Is Keeping XRP Busy. Here’s What Just Happened

On October 8, XRP exchange-traded funds generated $67.25 million in trading volume, according to data shared by crypto commentator XRP Update. This combined activity across the tracked XRP ETFs reached a substantial level, with Bitwise and Franklin Templeton driving the majority of the session’s volume.

XRP Update published the figures on X alongside an XRP ETF dashboard tracking six U.S. spot XRP ETFs. The tracker listed the price of XRP at $1.39, reflecting a 0.54% increase over a 24-hour period. It also put total ETF assets under management at roughly $1.69 billion, with 1.188 billion XRP stored in ETF vaults.

Characterizing the latest session as a surge in XRP ETF volume, the post noted, “A MASSIVE $67.25 MILLION traded on October 8!”

Bitwise and Franklin Templeton Lead Trading

Among the ETFs featured in the dashboard, Bitwise led the way with $31.17 million in volume from approximately 1.97 million shares. Franklin Templeton followed closely, posting $28.96 million across about 1.88 million shares.

Canary Capital took third place, generating $4.79 million in volume from roughly 319,240 shares. Grayscale saw $1.71 million in volume, REX-Osprey recorded about $490,380, and 21Shares registered approximately $133,450.

Additionally, the tracker highlighted a Week 41 net flow of 2.36 million XRP, which translates to about $3.27 million. These numbers demonstrate that the dashboard period captured both active trading volume and incoming XRP flows.

Reactions Focus on XRP’s Price

The post provoked mixed responses in the comments section, with some participants assessing the potential implications of the ETF activity for XRP, while others questioned the relevance of the volume numbers within the broader market context.

Expressing an optimistic view of the reported ETF performance, user Bitcoin Long replied, “I gotta buy a ton more $XRP like crazy.”

Taking a more critical stance, Anthony mickael Christopher responded, “Yes and the price is going nowhere XRP,” calling into question why the reported ETF volume had failed to spark a more significant price movement.

Echoing that sentiment and challenging the scale of the $67.25 million figure, VALE replied to Anthony by writing, “Exactly cause these clowns think 67M is a lot of money; this clown is literally highlighting 67M as if it’s 67 billion.”

These divergent responses illustrate that market observers remain split on the significance of the reported ETF volume, with some emphasizing institutional participation and others focusing directly on its connection to the price of XRP.
