What You Need to Know Before You Buy XRP

Susan Anderson warned prospective buyers against unrealistic XRP price targets, cautioning against online hype promising massive near-term returns while sparking mixed reactions across the community.

What You Need to Know Before You Buy XRP

The XRP community is well acquainted with ambitious forecasts. Social media influencers frequently promote eye-catching price targets, drawing large and attentive followings. Amid this backdrop, Susan Anderson (@Susan223331) posted a straightforward caution for anyone considering a purchase of XRP.

She characterized the prevailing online hype as “the same type of BS they’ve been saying for years.” Advising prospective investors against expecting a 5x, 10x, or 100x return in the near future, she warned that buyers risk “waiting for years and years listening to the same hype until you literally go numb to it.”

Framing her message as “a drop of honesty in a sea of BS hype,” Anderson noted that she has personally accumulated and held XRP for years.

The Predictions Keep Coming

Anderson’s warning stands out because such ambitious forecasts have become standard within XRP circles. For instance, prominent XRP figure Jake Claver projected a $750 price target for 2025, which fell far short of reality when XRP peaked at $3.65 during that timeframe.

Despite XRP currently changing hands at $1.32, Claver has re-established the same $750 target for 2026. Other voices within the ecosystem have turned even more optimistic, with certain forecasts stretching into the thousands. These projections continue to circulate across social networks despite repeatedly failing to materialize.

How the Community Responded

Responses to Anderson’s remarks varied significantly. Several users expressed agreement with her viewpoint. One commenter noted that he had already grown numb to what he termed “paid grifters,” while another shared that he had reached a state of complete numbness.

Conversely, others pushed back against her message. A respondent highlighted that acquiring XRP at $0.30 and watching it climb past $3.60 constituted a genuine return, questioning whether that achievement qualified as mere hype. A different user implied that Anderson was simply frustrated over missing out on the previous 5x gain.

Some critics questioned her credibility, placing her on equal footing with the influencers she targeted. One commenter argued that her perspective held no more validity than those she criticized, calling all such claims unverifiable. Another inquired what evidence supported her claims over the influencers’ assertions.

A Pattern That Keeps Repeating

Anderson is far from alone in voicing these concerns. Observers and analysts consistently challenged extreme XRP price goals throughout 2026. In March, crypto commentator Dominus asserted that anticipating XRP to hit $50 or $500 in 2026 lacked any foundation in market reality.

Similarly, KepMatrix argued in October that projections of $100 or $1,000 carry no weight if the token cannot first secure a $10 valuation. This recurring loop of lofty predictions and skeptical pushback remains a defining element of XRP discussions in 2026, with Anderson serving as the latest voice to challenge the trend.
