XRP Is Crushing Bitcoin In Korea. Here’s What Happened

South Korea’s cryptocurrency market has historically wielded considerable influence on worldwide digital asset valuations, and XRP is currently drawing major focus in the region.

On Upbit, one of South Korea’s premier exchanges, XRP secured the top spot among all trading pairs by volume, outperforming Bitcoin over a 24-hour period.

Cryptocurrency analyst Digital Asset Investor (@digitalassetbuy) highlighted these figures to his followers. Citing a post by BankXRP (@BankXRP), he reported that the XRP KRW trading pair accumulated $887.7 million in 24-hour volume on Upbit.

He pointed out that XRP made up 12.42% of the platform’s entire spot trading volume, “ranking number one among all trading pairs, including Bitcoin.” Securing this standing on a leading exchange is impressive for any cryptocurrency, and for XRP to outpace Bitcoin highlights its strong international presence.

XRP’s Consistent Dominance

XRP taking the lead over Bitcoin in trading volume is not an unprecedented event. The digital asset has previously surpassed both Bitcoin and Ethereum on Upbit during surges in market activity. South Korea frequently serves as the epicenter for these volume spikes, with XRP attracting heavy engagement from both domestic retail and institutional participants.

Every occurrence further solidifies XRP’s standing as a token with robust liquidity and high market involvement, especially across Asia. The latest metrics on Upbit maintain this ongoing trend.

Korea as a Key Market for XRP

South Korea maintains a distinct role within the worldwide crypto ecosystem. Traders in the country demonstrate high engagement with XRP and generate significant trading volume on local platforms. Upbit frequently ranks among the world’s most active cryptocurrency exchanges, and XRP has reliably thrived within that ecosystem.

A variety of elements drive XRP’s appeal in Korea. The token’s fast transaction speeds, minimal fees, and utility for cross-border transactions appeal strongly to a population well-acquainted with global remittances and financial technology.

Korean retail investors have traditionally gravitated toward XRP during upward market trends, a preference clearly documented by exchange statistics. The metrics indicate that these traders are heavily investing in XRP, driving its trading volume past the industry’s leading assets.

What the Numbers Signal

XRP capturing 12.42% of Upbit’s aggregate spot volume across a single 24-hour window provides clear empirical evidence. It demonstrates robust demand from one of the globe’s most active trading communities. Whenever trading volume surges to this degree on Upbit, the broader XRP network takes notice—and current metrics indicate that attention is justified.
