XRP X Money Connection and the Supply Crunch That Could Change Everything

The connection between XRP and Elon Musk's X Money platform gains traction following Cross River Bank's partnership with Ripple, alongside reports of an impending supply crunch driven by aggressive institutional accumulation and limited token float.

XRP X Money Connection and the Supply Crunch That Could Change Everything

The link between XRP and Elon Musk’s X Money platform continues to be a focus for XRP commentators and Digital Asset Investor (@digitalassetbuy). This relationship is increasingly difficult to ignore following Cross River Bank’s announcement of a partnership with Ripple to embed RLUSD directly into its core banking systems.

The X Money Link Takes Shape

Because Cross River Bank has ties to Stripe, and Stripe functions as the backend for X Money—a connection highlighted by Digital Asset Investor—the integration gains further context. Cross River Bank has officially verified that it will accommodate transactions on the XRP Ledger, bringing RLUSD into its main banking infrastructure to facilitate cross-border settlements.

For years, Digital Asset Investor has argued that X Money would ultimately rely on XRP behind the scenes. He contends that the Cross River Bank announcement represents the exact route XRP uses to interface with X Money. Institutional analysts share this perspective, pointing out that astute observation of institutional publications allowed them to anticipate the partnership months ahead of time.

The Numbers Behind the Supply Crunch

Although the potential X Money integration draws substantial interest, Digital Asset Investor views the current dynamics of XRP’s supply as equally critical. The maximum supply of XRP is capped at 100 billion tokens, with ledger transaction fees continuously burning portions of that total. This compression is further heightened by aggressive institutional accumulation.

Citing data from The Modern Investor (@ModernInvest), he highlighted figures showing individual corporate purchases reaching 1 billion XRP. Within a single 24-hour window, exchanges saw 1.6 billion XRP withdrawn. Maintaining that velocity would see more than 1% of the overall supply leave exchanges daily, meaning the entire circulating supply could vanish in less than 100 days.

Who’s Holding and Who’s Left Out

Digital Asset Investor ties these various forms of institutional engagement directly back to the tightening supply. Developments involving Evernorth, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and expanding collateral utility all contribute to the same outcome. When factoring in Ripple’s locked holdings—which the company has pledged not to sell—alongside large positions accumulated by early institutional buyers over the past 14 years, the accessible float diminishes even further. He calculates that only 30 billion to 40 billion XRP are truly available for acquisition.

The Institutional Case and Price Outlook

Stuart Alderoty, Ripple’s Chief Legal Officer, described Evernorth’s regulatory milestone as a clear indicator of institutional validation. Meanwhile, analyst Matt Hougan anticipates that trillions of dollars in global assets—spanning just the equity, bond, and real estate sectors—will transition on-chain.

Digital Asset Investor positions XRP at the forefront of roughly 25 essential infrastructure assets anticipated by the DTCC. Regarding valuation, he views price targets between $5 and $8 as “ridiculously achievable in weeks, months.” At present, XRP is trading at $1.34.
