XRPL Validator Vet: XRP Is Perhaps Down In Price, But Up In…

Despite recent price declines, the technology behind the XRP Ledger continues to advance. XRP Ledger validator Vet (@Vet_X0) highlighted this contrast in a recent social media post, stating, “XRP is perhaps down in price, but up in tech.” Trading at $1.39—down nearly 9% over the past week—the asset’s current market value contrasts sharply with the network’s ongoing development.

Permission Delegation Goes Live

The XRP Ledger mainnet has successfully activated the Permission Delegation amendment. This update allows account holders to grant other accounts authorization to submit specific transaction types on their behalf, while giving developers native tools to restrict what those delegated accounts can accomplish. The amendment secured over 80% validator support for two straight weeks prior to going live.

Batch Arrives Today

Scheduled for deployment on October 9 alongside the companion security fix fixBatchV1_2, the Batch amendment allows users to combine up to eight transactions into a single atomic operation. This ensures that either every transaction within the group succeeds, or the entire batch is rejected with no partial outcomes—a crucial feature for institutional settlements and multi-step workflows.

Three additional amendments remain in the voting queue: Confidential Transfer, Sponsor, and Dynamic MPT. Confidential Transfer will bring on-chain encryption to MPT balances and transfer amounts. Sponsor will enable third parties to pay transaction fees and cover reserve requirements for other network participants. Meanwhile, Dynamic MPT will allow issuers to update certain token attributes after initial issuance.

Why the Tech Matters for Price Growth

Every network upgrade enhances the XRP Ledger’s viability for institutional adoption. Permission Delegation minimizes risk within automated frameworks, Batch facilitates clean atomic settlements, Sponsor eliminates the need for new users to hold XRP upfront, and Confidential Transfer delivers the privacy institutions require on public ledgers.

Advanced infrastructure drives network activity, and heightened activity strengthens the foundation for long-term adoption. Over time, sustained adoption provides the underlying support for price appreciation.

How the Community Responded

Vet’s remarks prompted mixed reactions across the community. Supporters echoed his sentiment, with one user pointing out that the Batch feature alone enhances user experience and platform sustainability by enabling platforms to charge for services directly rather than relying on fee splits. Another adopter took a long-term perspective, noting that utility follows technology, and price ultimately follows utility.

Conversely, skeptics remained unconvinced. One participant asked whether ongoing technical milestones soften the blow of a declining portfolio, while another argued that investors engage by holding assets rather than building infrastructure, dismissing technical progress as an inadequate justification for weak price performance.
