A weekly close could determine XRP’s next significant movement. Realtor and entrepreneur Patrick L. Riley shared a long-term weekly chart for XRP that points to a potential turning point. Interestingly, this outcome extends beyond the price of a single asset and could reshape the architecture of the broader cryptocurrency market.
According to Riley, a green close for XRP next week could signal “the next Bull Run and the end of Bitcoin’s dominance,” creating what he termed “a whole new market.” When he published his analysis, XRP was trading at $1.5629, reflecting a 10.83% increase for the session.
What the Chart Shows
Spanning XRP’s complete price history from 2014 through 2026, the weekly chart utilizes a logarithmic scale to accurately capture percentage-based shifts over extended spans. Multiple converging trendlines intersect the graph, featuring a major descending trendline originating from the 2018 high alongside an ascending blue channel.
If $XRP closes next week in the green we could be looking at the next Bull Run and the end of Bitcoin's dominance. In other words, a whole new market.

XRP’s Current Position
Following a rally exceeding 500%, XRP broke through the upper limit of the descending trendline in late 2024. After subsequently reaching an all-time high of $3.65 and experiencing a subsequent retracement, the token is now resting squarely on a vital support level that formerly served as resistance, representing a classic breakout scenario where the duration of price stability is critical.
Trading near $1.52, XRP is currently retesting the downward trendline that functioned as a barrier for over a year. Meanwhile, the upper boundary of the blue channel indicates that a decisive breakout could pave the way for triple-digit targets ranging from $440 to $800 on the logarithmic scale.
Bitcoin Dominance and XRP
Riley’s mention of “the end of Bitcoin’s dominance” holds historical significance. Bitcoin dominance tracks the leading cryptocurrency’s proportion of the overall crypto market capitalization. When this metric declines, funds typically flow into altcoins, with XRP historically serving as a principal recipient of this capital shift.
During the 2017 bull market, Bitcoin dominance declined steeply as XRP skyrocketed from below $0.01 to surpass $3. A comparable trend materialized in 2021 when XRP climbed from under $0.30 to $1.96 amid the onset of altcoin season, making XRP a primary focus for analysts monitoring dominance cycles.
The Level That Matters
A positive weekly close for XRP would indicate that buyers are successfully defending the breakout retest, fulfilling the exact condition specified by Riley. The underlying chart formation suggests that a validated hold at this juncture would clear the way toward substantially higher objectives within the established channels.
