Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and CTO Emeritus David Schwartz have sparked discussions across the XRP community. Recently, a prominent figure criticized Garlinghouse for being hesitant when speaking about where XRP would be in 5 years.
The same critic also took issue with Schwartz for favoring retail adoption during discussions about the token’s trajectory. Vandell Aljarrah, co-founder of Black Swan Capitalist, has a definitive position regarding these remarks.
Theater to Impress Retail Investors
Aljarrah asserts that he pays no attention to statements made by corporate executives. He noted: “I could care less what they say.” He excludes Garlinghouse, Schwartz, and other company leaders from his personal investment strategy, viewing press releases and executive commentary merely as noise.
According to Aljarrah, the cyclical reactions of investors to these headlines amount to “theater” designed for retail participants who lack an understanding of market mechanics. He argues that many members of the XRP community waste time on “irrelevant trivial details that don’t do anything for them.”

What Aljarrah Watches
Instead of listening to executive opinions, Aljarrah tracks liquidity, market sentiment, macroeconomic cycles, monetary policy, and price structures. He gauges retail emotional states alongside their trading behavior, while examining technical indicators for price reference and concentrating on the structural fundamentals underlying every position.
His analytical approach relies on the foundational belief that supply and demand drive price, and that liquidity, sentiment, and macro trends are the forces shaping supply and demand. Executive commentary has no impact on these fundamental forces.
Why XRP’s Fundamentals Still Hold
Aljarrah’s optimistic outlook on XRP is independent of Garlinghouse’s public statements. Instead, it depends entirely on whether the asset’s structural fundamentals remain intact—a condition he believes is currently being met. “As long as the fundamentals haven’t changed, then nothing has changed.”
He links this view to two long-term theses. The first centers on systemic asset inflation within a debt-based financial system, which he anticipates will continue to benefit scarce, high-quality assets. The second focuses on tokenization and utility adoption, a trend he expects to unfold over multiple years regardless of executive messaging.
Ultimately, he maintains that XRP remains a high-quality asset and that the cycle is still unfolding. The primary objective is positioning oneself correctly ahead of the next phase of the cycle.
The Cycle Is What Counts
Aljarrah points out that even fundamentally sound assets can be poor investments if purchased at the wrong time, making an understanding of market cycles an essential skill.
His advice to XRP investors is to buy quality assets at a discount, stay aligned with broader macroeconomic trends, and ignore everything else. He urges traders to stop investing emotional energy into executive narratives and instead focus on the data that drives price.
