The blockchain surpasses its November 2021 transaction benchmark, processing 1.78 million transactions over five days.
CARDANO ECOSYSTEM, October 12, 2026:
Cardano has hit fresh milestones for transaction volume and network fees upon the conclusion of epoch 660. The blockchain handled 1,780,896 transactions during the five-day window ending October 11 UTC, eclipsing its prior high of 1,566,974 by 13.65%. That old benchmark had remained in place since November 2021.
A new daily record was achieved on October 8 UTC, when the network processed 542,532 transactions. Peak throughput climbed to an unprecedented rate of roughly 440 transactions per second. Altogether, transaction activity throughout epoch 660 reached 11.27 times the volume of the prior epoch.
Meanwhile, network fees climbed to 337,720 ADA, outperforming the previous epoch fee record by 9.54%. This cumulative sum reflects the fees paid by users to leverage the Cardano network.
Network activity and infrastructure
These metrics encompass activity across a five-day epoch, transactions executed within a single UTC calendar day, and peak throughput limits. The referenced TPS metric highlights a brief surge rather than a consistent operational pace. Furthermore, transaction aggregates track ledger activity—including repeated user actions—rather than distinct individual users.
Transactions serve to move assets, run smart contracts, and drive the demand for blockspace. Throughout this record-breaking stretch, Cardano handled the heightened traffic on its live production blockchain, relying on underlying infrastructure maintained by developers and independent stake pool operators. These network-wide sums incorporate every transaction originating from all active applications and users during the timeframe.
HOSKY Doggie Bowl campaign
The surge was heavily propelled by HOSKY’s Doggie Bowl campaign. The initiative brought back its token distribution system on October 6 with the express goal of beating past transaction benchmarks.
Users participated by sending 2 ADA to a designated address, in return receiving roughly 1.x ADA alongside a randomized grant of HOSKY tokens. Continuous engagement, including automated scripts, generated a steady stream of incoming transfers and outgoing distributions. Certain payouts even serviced multiple recipients within a single transaction.
HOSKY previously assisted in fueling Cardano’s peak activity during epochs 302 and 304 back in November 2021. This latest drive builds on that legacy nearly five years after the initial Doggie Bowl rollout.
Activity tied to HOSKY accounts for upwards of 9% of all transactions ever logged on Cardano since the network’s launch. This figure represents a historical, cumulative percentage rather than the specific share registered during epoch 660 alone. The project’s broader ecosystem footprint also features stake pool backing, NFT projects, and community involvement.
About HOSKY
HOSKY is a native Cardano meme token that debuted in November 2021. Known for its satirical persona and its description of its own token as having zero value, the project runs Doggie Bowl distributions and community programs designed to encourage engagement within the Cardano ecosystem.
