A prominent figure within the XRP community recently made a surprising career move. Bird (@Bird_XRPL), a well-known analyst, Drop CEO, and active voice in the XRPL ecosystem, took to X to publicly announce his application for a job at Ripple.
He addressed Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse directly in his message and attached a screenshot verifying that his submission had been processed.
Highlighting his qualifications, Bird noted that he brings more than a decade of marketing experience, a six-year history of holding XRP, and two years of daily development on the XRPL. He decided the moment was right to officially seek a role with Ripple.
Hey @bgarlinghouse, I just applied to work for Ripple.
10+ years working in marketing.
6 years holding XRP.
2 years building on the XRPL every single day.Thought it was finally time to throw my hat in the ring

Support From the Community
The XRP community responded with mostly favorable reactions. Numerous users offered their best wishes and voiced excitement about the possibility. One commenter described it as a dream position, while another shared encouragement from past experience, mentioning they had applied to Ripple several times themselves.
The NDA Conversation
A recurring topic of discussion involved potential confidentiality requirements. One user offered a lighthearted reminder that non-disclosure agreements apply to humans rather than birds, nodding to Ripple’s frequent use of NDAs. Although many treated the topic with levity, others viewed it as a legitimate point of concern.
One commenter asserted that securing the position would likely halt his public commentary regarding XRP. Having championed the digital asset for years with frequent bullish forecasts, his communication could be restricted by corporate privacy rules. Another individual remarked that given how much information Bird has already disclosed, an NDA would put an end to those updates.
Additionally, a community member joked that Bird would end up teaching Ripple how to feed hints to the public, acknowledging his history of sharing unique insights.
Flipping the Switch and More Humor
Other community members injected plenty of jokes into the conversation. A few reactions made light of the enduring XRP “flip the switch” joke. One user jokingly urged Bird to locate the room at Ripple housing the switch and activate it, while another inquired if he had applied specifically for the switch-flipping job or if that position was already occupied.

Another joke suggested Bird make sure to credit the user for behind-the-scenes DeFi efforts, while a separate comment asked if he planned to arrive at the workplace dressed as a bird.
What Comes Next?
With Garlinghouse previously referring to XRP as Ripple’s North Star, Bird has long served as an advocate for the cryptocurrency’s supporters. The application screenshot displayed his progress past the initial screening and team conversation phases, pointing toward an upcoming on-site interview.
